A recording made with a pair of contact microphones, bolted in a dead pine that a Great Spotted Woodpecker used as a workbench, and of ambience from the same place, though recorded afterward, but mixed with the Woodpecker knockings. It took one week of daily full-time recordings to get the Woodpecker sound. |
